Obituary

Denis O'Brien, 69, of Bay City passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2016. He was born on November 6, 1946 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Henry and Anna Reuter O'Brien.

Denis proudly served his country during the Vietnam War from January 6, 1966 to May 17, 1967. He loved golfing with his buddies. Denis loved volunteering at the 1940's Museum at Hobby Airport and at the Hospital Auxiliary . He enjoyed spending time on his flight simulator with his buddies, his favorite one being from Scotland. Denis loved being with his family, grandchildren and friends.

Denis is survived by his loving family. Wife, Charlotte O'Brien; children Sandra Pannell & husband Art, David Morton, Scott Sampson & wife Tia, Anthony D. Morton & wife Sue, Paul Douglas O'Brien & wife Pam, Michael Morton & wife Sherry; brother Monsignor John H. O'Brien; 19 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister Pat.

Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00pm Thursday, March 3 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00pm. Mass of the Resurrection will be 10:00am Friday, March 4, 2016 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Monsignor John H. O'Brien celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers, Nathan Lubbers, Urbano Rodriguez, Jimmy Brightwell, Robert Pratt, Cliff Nelson, Joe Hartley; Honorary pallbearer, Bill Lubbers.
