Dean Travis Rush, age 38, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 23, 2005. He was born on June 5th, 1967 to Carl and Carleene Rush of Markham, TX. He was a graduate of Tidehaven High School and Wharton County Junior College. He was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church, Markham, Texas. He was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, grandson, and friend.

He is survived by his Father: Carl W. Rush of Markham; Step Mom: Pamela Rush; brothers: Rev. Wade Rush and Captain Jason Wisham (U.S. Army); Sister-in-laws: Lisa Rush and Heather Wisham; Nieces and nephews include: Hayden and Madison and Kody and Kyra; Grandmothers: Bertha Jensen of El Campo, and Louise Rush of Markham.
He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother: Carleene Jensen Rush.

Dean will be remembered for his kindness, his giving spirit, his hard work, his positive outlook on life, and his devotion to the bus ministry and children's ministry at First Baptist Church, seeing that the children of Markham had a way to church each Sunday. His life touched many throughout the community. He will be greatly missed and our lives will never be the same without him.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Wednesday July 27th at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City. Services will be held at First Baptist Church, Markham Texas on July 28th at 10 a.m. officiated by Dr. Howard Harper. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery in Blessing, TX. Pallbearers will be: Grady Quinney, Dennis Rawlings, Kenny McKissick, Kevin McKissick, Robert Daniels, Louis Rush, Carl Jensen, and Brian Jensen. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to First Baptist Church, Markham, Texas.
