David Aaron "Paw" Wiggins, 82, passed away on March 17, 2019 in Sweeny, Texas. He was born on May 26, 1936 in Conroe, Texas to Ben and Mary Gandy Wiggins.
He grew up in the Montgomery County area, and was one of ten children. At the young age of 17, he began his career in the oilfield. He worked in the oilfield in a variety of capacities, but he worked as a fishing tool supervisor for the longest duration of time until his "retirement". He moved his family to the Matagorda County area in the early 60s, where he lived for the remainder of his life. He was a member of Cedar Lane Baptist Church.
David is survived by his wife, Sarah Wiggins; daughter, Bonita Stell and husband David; daughter, Tina Kelly and husband Billy; son, David E. Wiggins and wife Sandra; daughter, Beth Roberson and husband Gary; son, Mark Bittner and wife Tonya; daughter-in-law, D.J. Bittner and husband Jeff; sister, Marilyn Mills and husband Skipper. He leaves behind thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and his beloved dog, Bruno. He is preceded in death by his parents, eight siblings, and son, Tim Bittner.
Visitation will be at Taylor Bros Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorial services will be officiated by Pastor Mike Patterson at Cedar Lane Baptist Church on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck, Texas. Pallbearers are Billy Kelly, David W. Stell, David B. Stell, Daniel Stell, Jonathan Roberson, David E. Wiggins, Jr., and Steven Moers. Honorary pallbearers are Curtis Dykes, Don Ross, Ronnie Woolsey, Marion Keyworth, Robert Chancey, and Ray Chancey.
