David Leslie Lusty, 89, of Van Vleck passed away June 11, 2007. He was born January 22, 1918 in Wickes, Arkansas to John and Agness A. Cooke Lusty. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Van Vleck and a veteran of WWII.

Survivors include daughters & spouses, Dorothy Tise of Houston, Elizabeth & Bill Johnson, Sandra Clayton Joyner and Mary & Guy Snyder all of Van Vleck; sons & spouses David Lusty, Jr & Kathy of Lonsdale, Arkansas, Martin & Karen Lusty of Humble, TX, Bobby & Diane Lusty of Los Angeles, CA and James & Eileen McKissick of Bay City; 26 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wives Novella Lusty and Ivy Mae Lusty.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, June 14, 2007 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Chapel with Rev. Allen K. Lowe officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Matt Cockrell, Danny Johnson, Randy Joyner, Dean Lusty, Ross Eidlebach and Sam Cox. Members of the Men's Sunday School Class at the First Baptist Church in Van Vleck will serve as honorary pallbearers. Arrangements with Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City. 979-245-4613.
