David William Carpenter was born on October 7, 1980, to Bill and Pat Carpenter and raised in the Central Texas area. He met the love of his life Crystal Carpenter (Chenevert) in high school, and they were married in May of 2000. David enlisted in the Navy in 1999 where he was stationed in Norfolk, VA and served his country until his Honorable Discharge. In November of 2000 they welcomed their daughter Brie into the world and Bryce followed in 2002. They have lived all over central Texas and the coast and made countless friends along the way.

David was a daredevil from the time he could walk, from climbing fences to jumping his bike, he kept his parents on their toes. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He passed down that joy to his kids, and nieces and nephews who he also loved as his own.

David's biggest joys in life were his family, dogs Mason and Chief, cars and the New York Giants.

David is preceded in death by his father Bill Carpenter, Grandparents Bill and Carol Shugart; Wilhelmina Carpenter; cousin Anthony Holbrook,; Aunt Evelyn; and loyal dog Mason. He leaves behind his loving wife Crystal; Daughter Brie, Son Bryce; grandchildren Gracelynn and Hayden; Mother Pat Carpenter; Sister Sheryl Roemer and nieces Lisa and Darian (Josh Trevino); nephew Brock (Taylor); Sister Cristina Cox and nephews Timothy and Josh; Mother-in-law Joyce; brother- in-law Donnie (Erin) and niece Paisley; Aunt Sharon (Phil); cousins that were just as close as siblings: Angelia and Brook; Uncle Michael (Pam); Uncle Dub(Joy) and cousins Brandon, Rachael, Olivia and Stephanie.

David fought a hard fight with his cancer and through that fight he never lost his faith in the Lord. He lost that battle on October 16,2023. On your headstone is two dates and a dash. David lived a short life, but he really made the dash matter.

Visitation will begin 2:00 pm Friday, October 20, 2023 at Palacios Funeral Home, followed by graveside services at Palacios Cemetery at 3:00 pm.
