Obituary

David Lynn Bradley, a beloved resident of Markham, TX, peacefully journeyed to his Heavenly home on February 1, 2024, at the age of 79. Born on May 4, 1944, in Bay City, TX, to Tommy Robert Bradley and Ruby Morgan Bradley, David's life was a testament to hard work, dedication, and the love he had for his family, community, and faith.

David's legacy was marked by his unwavering work ethic and dedication to his craft. From a young age, he practically grew up on a drag line, eventually becoming a skilled heavy equipment operator. His career began at LCRA, continued alongside his brother Kenneth, and eventually led to the establishment of his own business, Bradco Construction. Later in life, he contributed his skills to Zachry at the Clemville plant, retiring at the admirable age of 77, having worked sun up to sun down throughout his illustrious career. He also served as the drainage commissioner for Matagorda County Drainage District Precinct 2 for 15 years.

David found joy in contributing to his community. In between jobs, he selflessly assisted Mr. Snider and Mr. Tommy LeTulle with working cattle, eventually acquiring his own herd under the brand Rocking 4. His versatile skills extended to welding, where he worked for Henry Seifert, demonstrating an ability to mend and create with remarkable precision. He built his own home and shop with the help of his long-time friend, Pat Patterson, enjoying the fruits of his labor in the last decade of his life.

David was a devout Christian, serving as a deacon at the First Baptist Church of Markham for many years.  His faith journey began with Howard Harper, a testament to his commitment to the Lord. Among his most cherished titles were husband, Dad, Pa, and friend. He deeply loved his family, the Lord, hunting, fishing, and horses.

David's heart belonged to his high school sweetheart, Betty, whom he wed on January 11, 1963. Together, they celebrated 59 blessed years of marriage and raised three children.

David was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty, and son-in-law, Tim Jackson. He is survived by his daughters Terry Greaves (Mark), Debbie Parks, and Kimberly Bradley; grandchildren Brittany & Cody Vacek - great grands Emmy & Timothy, Bradley & Bobbie Jackson - great grands Emmett, Annalise & Kai, Preston & Bonnie Parks - great grand Evalynn, Tiffany & Eric Juranek, Travis & Monica Parks - great grands Maya, TJ & Emma, Daena & Eric Becerra - great grands Alaigha & Violet; all of whom were the light of his life. David is also survived by his siblings Kenneth Bradley, Harvey Bradley, Marian Psencik, Ruthie Corbitt, Thomas Bradley (Lynda), Linda Junek (Joe), and numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends whom he adored.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at the First Baptist Church in Markham, officiated by Thomas Bradley. Viewing will be at 9 AM. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City, TX, where David will rest beside his beloved Betty. Pallbearers will include Bradley Jackson, Travis Parks, Cody Vacek, Eric Juranek, Lance Bradley, and Steve Mitchell.

The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to their kind neighbors, friends, and the Angels Home Health Hospice Care team for their unwavering support, compassion, and care during David's final days. The outpouring of calls, visits, prayers, and shared meals has been deeply appreciated. A special thank you to Linda Patterson for her constant presence and assistance.
