Darrell Joe Piwonka, 68, of Bay City passed away May 30, 2024.  He was born August 12, 1955 in El Campo, Texas to the late Clarence Piwonka, Sr. and Emma Jean Junek Piwonka.

Darrell was a proud Tidehaven Tiger and Texas ATM graduate. His strong work ethic was evident in his career as a chemical engineer and a leader at Kmco for over 20 years. In his younger years, he enjoyed golfing, being with his family, and making priceless memories on the home farm in Blessing. Darrell's way of showing love was to tease those that he cared for the most. It was his sense of humor and sarcasm that attracted many and will be missed most as he joins his wife and the love of his life, Jean Ann, whom he has greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Jean Ann Piwonka and brothers Gary Piwonka and Greg Piwonka.

Survivors include children Wendy (Les) Walker, Kelly (Buster) Wolfe, Justin (Jordan) Piwonka; grandchildren Konnor, Kailey, Karter, and Presley and Siblings Janie (Alvin) Bannert, Jim Piwonka, Paul (Vicki) Piwonka, Clarence (Lorene) Piwonka, Jr, Susie Sparks, Ronnie (Jan) Piwonka and Lisa (Randy) Volkmer and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home.  Graveside services will be at Cedarvale Cemetery at 2:00 PM with Dr. Mike Zimmerman officiating.
