Darlene Jane Schneider, 59, of Bay City passed away, September 25, 2023.  She was born October 12, 1963, in El Campo, Texas.

She grew up in Midfield, TX and graduated from Tidehaven High School.  She worked at the USDA for 35 years.  She loved hunting and fishing with the family.

She was preceded in death by her father Robert F. Merta.

Survivors include her mother Louise Billicek Merta; husband Ray Allen Schneider; sons Lucas Schneider and wife Chelsi and Jonathan Schneider and wife Melissa; sisters Louann Naiser, Janice Smaistrla, Donna Holub, Cathy Merta, Marilyn Barta and Michelle Ottis; brothers Mark Merta, Robert Merta and Michael Merta and her grandchildren Riley Schnieder, Paisley Schneider, Presley Schneider, Bailey Schneider and JT Schneider.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Friday, September 29, 2023, at Holy Cross Catholic Church.  A rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM followed by Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM with Rev. Stephen Vacek officiating.  Pallbearers will be Randy Schneider, Jay Ledwig, Jerry Naiser, Gary Hickel, Carey Orsak and Tommy Orsak.
