Daniel Forrest Haswell, aged 86, passed away on September 7, 2024, in Wetherford, Texas. Born on April 27, 1938, in Beaumont, Texas, Daniel led a fulfilling life characterized by a deep love for his family and a passion for the outdoors.

Daniel graduated from Tidehaven High School before attending Sam Houston State University, where he furthered his education. He dedicated 32 years of his career to Marathon Oil Company, where he was respected for his work ethic and camaraderie.

Beyond his professional life, Daniel was known for his witty sense of humor and his love for fishing, a hobby he often enjoyed with his grandsons. His family and friends will remember him as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished the time spent with his loved ones.

Daniel is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley Haswell; son, Kevin Haswell and wife Nita; daughter, Sue Babcock and husband Michael; grandchildren, Blake Babcock, Tanner Babcock, Dexter Haswell; and great-grandchild, Eli Babcock. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruby (Dominy) Haswell and Harold F. Haswell.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 14th, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City, Texas with Chris Webber officiating. Taylor Bros. Funeral Home of Bay City, Texas, is assisting the family with arrangements.
