Obituary

Daniel Alan Dabelgott, 58, or Woodsboro, TX passed away June 14, 2007. He was born September 3, 1948 in Bay City, TX to Allen Earl and Ernestine Mae Krenek Dabelgott. He was a graduate of Tidehaven High School and of Texas A & I University in Kingsville with a degree in Natural Gas & Petroleum Engineering. He had been a resident of Woodsboro for 27 years and was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church. Daniel was a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, Det.1 453rd Family Readiness Group (FRG), a family support organization for US Army Reserves, 644th FRG & 217th FRG. He spent his life being involved in the everyday lives of his children and grandchildren and his faithful Chocolate Lab "Chip". Many children through the years were treated as if they were his.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Teresa Ann Savage Dabelgott of Woodsboro; daughter Dara Ann Dabelgott of Woodsboro; sons Darin Alan Dabelgott of Bay City, Daryl Andrew Dabelgott & wife Shana Naomi of Midland and Sgt. Derek Austin Dabelgott, who is currently serving in the US Army Reserve in Iraq; sisters and their spouses Barbara & J. B. Freiley of Bay City, Irene & C. J. Benefield of Polk City, FL, Geneva & Rick Rader of Old Ocean and Mary Jane Dabelgott of Palacios; and five grandchildren Jordan Tyler Austin, Jonathan Taylor Dabelgott, Jennifer Tanae Dabelgott, Blaze Alan Dabelgott and Prudence Ann Dabelgott Lewis.

A rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM Monday, June 18, 2007 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Funeral mass is 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Blessing with Rev. Samuel Appiasi officiating. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Blessing. Pallbearers will be nephews Nolan Savage and Joey Kacal and dear friends & co-workers Perry Lawrence, Pete Repka, Danny Randall, Danny Martin, Bobbgy Blackmon and Fred Henderson. Other former and current co-workers will serve as honorary pallbearers. Memorials may be made to the Tidehaven Alumni Scholarship Fund, c/o Tidehaven High School, El Maton, TX 77440.
