Obituary

Dale L. Withrow, 83, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, January 20, 2007 in Bay City. He was born September 25, 1923 in Omaha, Nebraska to Jesse James Withrow and Mary Leighton Withrow. Shortly afterwards the family moved to Kingfisher, OK. After graduating from high school, he joined the US Navy where he served in the Pacific during World War II. He retired from Phillips Petroleum in Sweeny after 36 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, four brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 60 years: Gladys Withrow of Bay City; by 2 daughters: Betty Burns & husband James of Victoria and Frances Elder & husband Steve of Bay City; by his grandchildren: Steve Cashion & wife Tammy and their son Cullen of Van Vleck, Tina Keen & husband Troy and their daughter Maegan and son Leighton of Bay City, Bryan Long of Houston, Stephanie Long of Longview, Denaee Eastwood & husband Ronald and their son Truett of Katy, Alysia Burns and her sons Wade and Tate Bludau of Houston, and Trent Elder & wife Jackie and their children Ann Victoria, Jesse, Shi-ann and Catlynn of Slidell, LA; and by close friends of the family: Charles Clark of Houston and Francis Bludau of Hallettsville.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at the First Christian Church of Bay City with Hospice Chaplain Don Storey and Rev. James Meurer officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Pallbearers will be the Philip H. Parker VFW Post 2438 Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Houston Hospice – El Campo Branch at Hospice Support, Inc, PO Box 1417, El Campo, TX 77437.
