Obituary

Daisy Louise Dillinger, 97, quietly passed away on November 14, 2008 in the Palacios Community Medical Center. She had lived the last five years of her long life with her daughter and son-in-law, Sylvia & Tap Logue of Matagorda, Texas.

Daisy was born to Margaret Pauline & John William Helms, Jr. on February 3, 1911 in Opp, Alabama. As a young girl she moved with her parents and sister, Annie Jane, to the Port Arthur area where she lived the majority of her life. She graduated from Port Arthur High School in 1930 and soon married her husband of 60 years, George Dillinger. They were married in the First Christian Church of Port Arthur and remained active members until death. Together they had two daughters, Sylvia Louise and Eileen Dillinger.

Daisy was a faithful Christian and lived her life each day through Jesus Christ. A loving daughter, sister, wife and mother, she gave selflessly to her family. Her devotion extended from daughters Sylvia, Eileen and their families to her sister, Annie Jane Gilliland and her family, including nieces and nephew Jo Ann, Geraldine, Jane, Judy and Jerry and each of their families. These loved one will eternally treasure Daisy's love, kindness, and most of all, her delicious pies!

Daisy was preceded in death by husband George Dillinger, sister Annie Jane Gilliland, daughter Eileen Mann and grandson Alec Paul Stansbury. Survivors include daughter Sylvia and son-in-law Tap Logue of Matagorda; grandsons Terry Logue of Matagorda and Tim Logue of Ft. Worth; granddaughters Tina Homan of Ft. Worth, Toni Logue of Ft. Worth, Amy Stansbury Gray of Houston and Alison Stansbury of Houston; 8 great grandchildren; 5 nieces and nephews, 13 great nieces and nephews, and 29 great-great nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Monday, November 17, 2008 at the Oak Bluff Cemetery in Port Neches, Texas.
