Obituary
Curtis Eldon Sanders, 83, of Van Vleck passed away Sunday, March 27, 2011 in Victoria. He was born April 25, 1927 in Broaddus, TX to the late Jim & Zora Roberts Sanders. Curtis has been a long time resident of Matagorda County, served as Constable for Precinct 6 of Matagorda County for many years, and served as a Merchant Marine During World War II.
He is survived by his wife: Vera Sanders of Van Vleck; 3 daughters: Sharon & Earl Lindberg of Bay City, Gaye Daughtery of Bay City, and Nancy & Jimmy Dannelly of Van Vleck; son: Curtis Dale & Bre Sanders of Sargent; 2 sisters: Edith Lewis of Broaddus and Melva Jean Wagstaff of Center, TX; brother: Rudolph Sanders of Angleton; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, sister Reba Sanders, and brother Morice Sanders.
The family is planning a Memorial Service in Broaddus, Texas at a later date.
