Curtis E. Bryan, 82, of Bay City passed away Friday, June 5, 2009 in
Bay City following a brief illness. Curtis was born in Pineville, Louisiana on September 24, 1926 to parents Johnny and Thelma Keller Bryan. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and attended the Cincinatti Conservatory of Music and graduated from Louisiana College and The New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He served as the Minister of music and worship at Calvary Baptist Church in Bay City for many years and served in the community with several civic organizations. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Willis Bryan.
He is survived by his wife Lorraine Bryan of Bay City, a son, Richard Curtis Bryan of Bay City, Daughters, Becky and husband Mike Denn of Bay City, Emelie and husband Dale Allen of Butler, Alabama, and Cynthia and husband James Berger of Waco, Texas, brothers, Keither Bryan of Port Arthur, Texas, and Jeffery Bryan of Pasadena, Texas and a sister, Margaret Smedley of Kountze, Texas. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Keisha and Julie Denn, Danielle and Derick Bryan, Rachael, Ryan and Robbie Allen, Daniel, Kelly, and Deborah Berger and great-grandchildren, Blake and Annabelle Allen, Tigh Denn, Riley Tobler, Noah Farraq, and Worrick and Oscar Bryan.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 7, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Bay City Funeral Home and Funeral Services will be at 10:00AM, Monday June 8 at Calvary Baptist Church in Bay City with Rev. Chester Sassman officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Services are under the direction of Bay City Funeral Home.
