On the evening of April 5, 2016, surrounded by her loved ones, Concepcion Trevino Lucio was taken to Heaven by our Lord God to be reunited with the love of her life, Abel B. Lucio, Sr.
Concepcion was born on December 8, 1925 in Rio Hondo, Texas, Cameron County. She was the fifth child born to Lauro & Lucinda Trevino.
Concepcion was one of 16 siblings. She was married to Abel B. Lucio on September 1, 1946. She was a very strong and intelligent person. She gave birth to 13 children. She raised her children to be respectful, hard workers and dependable, to have generous hearts and to love God. She was a good wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was truly loved by many, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Concepcion is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Abel B. Lucio, Sr. (12/20/94), mother-in-law Maria De Refugio, 2 grandsons: Pablo Lucio I and Jeremy Miller, 1 granddaughter: Kimberly VanHoy, parents Lauro Trevino, Sr. and Lucinda Perales Trevino, siblings: Maria Lucinda Trevino, Larry Trevino, Jr., Albertha Ozuna, Amelia Erveia, Guadalupe Trevino, Gilbert Trevino, Lydia Gonzales, Raymond Trevino I, Raymond Trevino, Sr. and Rosie Landeros. She is survived by her 13 children: Abel Lucio, Jr. (Irene Lucio), Gilbert Lucio (Stella Lucio), Juan Lucio, Sr. (Adelfa Lucio), Janie Zepeda (Salvador Zepeda, Sr.), Paul Lucio, Sr. (Dominga Tijerina), Mary Miller (Joe Miller, Sr.), Betty DeLeon (Martin DeLeon), Jesse Lucio (Gwen Lucio), Maria Dolores Lucio, Ali VanHoy (Ken Coates), Ramiro Lucio (Leticia Lucio), Joe Lucio (Sharon Lucio), and Rene Lucio (Crystal Lucio). Siblings: Beatrice Moreno, Porfirio Trevino, Rafael Trevino, Maria DeLa Luz Aguilar and AB Trevino. As well as, 141 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
Concepcion will always be remembered for being a loving and kind mother, generous person with a deep devotion to her family, her sense of humor, her warm smile and her great cooking.
Even though, we ALL will miss you tremendously MOM, we are grateful for the many years and long life God gave us with you. We are truly blessed to call you our mom and we will always love you.
At his time, we would like to thank ALL of our family and friends for your kindness and support. We are all very thankful for God's blessings in our family.
The family will receive visitors beginning at 4:00pm Thursday, April 7 at Palacios Funeral Home. The Rosary will be held at 6:00pm that evening. Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday, April 8, 2016 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Palacios with Fr. Bryan Heyer officiating. Interment will follow at Palacios Cemetery.
