Cody Dwayne Carroll, 59 passed away on September 6, 2021 in Bay City, Texas.  He was born on September 23, 1961 in Big Spring, Texas to H.D. and Carla Carroll.  He was a Red Raider and graduated from Texas Tech University with his Bachelor's Degree in Nursing in 1995.

Cody was an Emergency Room nurse for more than thirty years.  His genuine care and compassion for his patients was apparent to all.  He did so much more than tend their wounds.  He eased their fears, dried their tears and made them feel everything was going to be alright.

Cody made his home on the lake in La Grange,Texas until November of 2019 when he married the love of his life Valerie Ann Valenta and relocated to Bay City, Texas.  He began working at Matagorda Regional in June of this year as an ER Nurse and although he was only there a few short months, they already loved him and considered him "one of their own".  We will forever be grateful for the care he received there.

Cody is survived by his loving wife Valerie, daughter Caitlin Perkins of Austin, step-daughters Christina Treybig and husband Tyler of Matagorda, Alyssa Henson of New Braunfels, grandson Breck Spencer Treybig, his father H.D. Carroll, sister Kathy Wells, step-brother Scott Morton and wife Debi all from Big Spring, Texas and step-brother Terry Allerdings of Lead, South Dakota.  Cody is also survived by nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother Carla Hatch, step-mother Jean Carroll and step-sister Sandy Dalton.

The family will receive friends and relatives for visitation at 2:00pm Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Memorial Services will begin at 3:00pm with Chris Webber officiating.
