Clyde Trueworth Gibbens, 75, of Sweeny passed away May 23, 2024. He was born December 7, 1948 in Bay City to the late Trueworth Gibbens and Eunice Irene Schilling Gibbens.
He was known by other names such as "Paw Paw", "Cowboy" and "Clyde the Glide". After attending Wharton County Junior College, he was drafted by the US Army. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War, turning 21 years old while doing so. After he was discharged, he discovered Pipelining and never looked back.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Diana Lynn McCauley.
Survivors include his wife Jo Carol Gibbens; daughter Amanda Cange (Justin); Jo Carol's children Tiffany Bell (Mike), Cory Barnard (Meg), Ryan Barnard (Jessica) and Ricky Barnard (Windy); sister Yvonne Hammond; brother David Gibbens (Velma); grandchildren Andrew, Alex, Nicole, Kristen, Lauren, Amy, Dani, Philip, Jacob, Charlie Jo, Evie, Chapin, Peyton and Tatum and great grandchildren Isaac, Sophie, Greyson and Baylor.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM with Rev. Wally Strother officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Joaquin Garza, Benny Thompson, George Cortinas, Greg Peterson, Donny Denson and Mario Garza.
