Claude Monard Jackson, 95, passed away December 6, 2018 at The Legacy Nursing Home in Bay City, TX. He was born September 6, 1923 in Atlanta, TX.  He was a resident of Bay City and served overseas in the US Air Force in WWII and was honorably discharged on April 24, 1946.  His working career was spent in Education advancing from a classroom teacher, coaching, and ending his career as Superintendent of Wallis/Orchard School District.

Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Elmer Jackson and Winnie Moulder Jackson; a sister, Harcia Loretta Pruitt; brother Marlin Elbert Jackson and Elmer Wayne Jackson; his first wife Bonnice Hamilton Jackson and second wife Doris E. Shumaker Jackson and son Timothy E. Jackson.

Survivors include sisters Dorothy Faye McDaniel of Shreveport, LA and Neva Frances (S. W.) Dickerson of Garland, TX; daughter-in-law Terry Jackson of Markham, TX; children Samuel Ray Jackson of Richmond, Denise Jackson Peters of Richmond, Terry Lou (Robert) Shumaker Mikeska of Virginia Beach, VA, Cherri Shumaker Myska of Bay City, Kent Allen (Terry) Shumaker of Montgomery, M. Jay Shumaker of Rosenberg, and David E. (Helen) Shumaker of College Station; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5PM until 7PM Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Taylor Bros. with Rev. Thomas Bradley officiating. Mr. Jackson will be buried at Smyrna Cemetery near Atlanta, TX next to his first wife Bonnice at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 13, 2018.
