IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Christopher Wayne
Harvey, Sr.
June 22, 1968 – September 27, 2025
Christopher Wayne Harvey Sr., a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 57 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family and friends after a courageous battle with colon cancer. Chris was born June 22, 1968 in Palacios, TX to Wanda Seaman Johnson and the late Lonnie Carroll Harvey. He was a 1986 graduate of Palacios High School and a lifelong resident of Palacios.
Growing up, Chris quickly discovered that he was a jack of all trades. He loved a challenge, and nothing was ever too hard for him to figure out. From taking apart his toys as a child to fixing any piece of equipment he could get his hands on as an adult, Chris always had a solution to the problem. In fact, during his hospital stay at Matagorda Regional Medical Center earlier this year, he proceeded to explain step by step to one of his nurses how to fix the noisy, leaking bathroom faucet that was driving him crazy. He had jobs from laying fiber optic cable across the Atlantic ocean to repairing tracks and equipment for Union Pacific Railroad to truck driving. You name it, he had done it. Chris's pride and joy was his children. His unwavering dedication and love for each one of them never went unnoticed. You could always find him in the crowd at any event his kids were participating in, cheering them on. He gained the title of grandfather in October of 2023 and became affectionately known as C-Paw by his granddaughters. Chris was a giver. He'd stop what he was doing to help anyone, anywhere, at any time if it meant that he could make their lives a little easier. To know him was an experience all on its own. There wasn't a serious bone in his body. When he was around, smiles and laughs were guaranteed. His quick wit, sharp mind, and all of his many talents will be dearly missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
Chris is survived by his mother and step-father, Wanda and Marshall Johnson, sister, Valerie Harvey Bell of Alvin, brother, Kevin Harvey (Seseley) of Palacios, eight children, Trevor Jones, Madeline Harvey Kruse (Steffen), Skylor Lambert, Mackenzie Lambert, Christopher Harvey Jr., Malinda Harvey, Channing Harvey, Mia Harvey, granddaughters Bailey Kruse and River Kruse, nieces and nephews, Hayden Harvey (Madeline), Caleb Harvey, Cassidy Bell Rush (Levi), Bruce Harvey, Andi Harvey, Charley Harvey, great niece and nephew, Ashton Harvey and Drew Harvey, and many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lonnie, grandparents, Freeman and Frances Harvey, W.O. and Thelma Seaman, and numerous aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at the Palacios Funeral Home from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
