Charlotte Jan Loper (CJ), 70, of Sargent passed away January 14, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones.  She was born January 2, 1953 in Weslaco, Texas to the late Don Harrison and Ruby Lackey Harrison.

CJ enjoyed spending time at the beach and in her younger years playing the game she loved most, softball. She was the grandmother and great grandmother not only to her own but to everyone who walked through her doors, affectionately known as (The Gemo).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Calvin Roderick (Rod) Loper, her sister Donna Patrick and her brother Donald Harrison.

Survivors include daughters Michelle Joiner (Tim); Melissa Dare (Randall Ryan); Trissa Thomas (Terry) and Tyler New (Michael); sisters Sherry Donavan and Kay Bellnoski; brother Edward Bo Lackey; grandchildren Tyler Joiner, Shae McErlean (Sean), Sonny O'Bryan, Drake Peel, Brittany Austin, Keevan Thomas and Kaleb Thomas; great grandchildren Miller McErlean, Presley McErlean, Beckett New, Bennett New, and Bristol Thomas; nieces and nephews including Keith Ferrel, Troy Hughlett, Scotty Hughlett, Tiffany Leca and Tim Halik and numerous extended family members and friends.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Friday, January 20, 2023 at Nichols Street Church of Christ, 1200 Nichols, Bay City, Texas.  Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM with Chris Webber officiating.  Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.  Pallbearers will be Tyler Joiner, Scotty Hughlett, Sean McErlean, Tim Halik, Lorenzo Malagisi and Troy Hughlett.
