Charles Joseph "Tinker" Remlinger, Jr., 76, of Palacios passed away Thursday, May 29, 2008. He was born July 19, 1931 in Riviera, Texas to the late Charles & Amanda Remlinger.

He was a devoted member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and the Knight of Columbus. He worked for Celanese Chemical Corp. for 23 years and retired in 1989. Not one to be idle, Tinker soon became an inspector for the Matagorda County-Palacios Seawall Commission where he served for 17 years, retiring in 2006.

He is survived by his sons Chuck & wife Irene of Katy, Bruce & wife Kim of Fredericksburg, Paul of Bay City, Mark & wife Lucille of Blessing, Scott & wife Karen of Houston; daughters Ann Glaze of San Antonio, Lynn & husband Larry Koether of Van Vleck, & Jane Remlinger of Palacios; sisters Agnes Blake & Edna Walker of Austin; 21 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Elizabeth Remlinger; son Kirk; sister Margaret Kuntscher & brothers, Victor, Harold & John Remlinger.

A rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM Sunday, June 1, 2008 at the Palacios Funeral Home. Mass will be 10:00 AM Monday, June 2, 2008 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Palacios with Rev. Charles Dwomoh officiating. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Blessing. Pallbearers will be grandsons Kirk, Craig, Erich & Paul Ryan Remlinger, Bubba & Ross Glaze, Matthew & Jacob Koether, Bruce Junek, Jr. and Austin Frick. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
