Charles Wesley Hutto, Jr., 79, of Palacios passed away March 31, 2018. He was born April 20, 1938 in Taft, Texas to the late Charles Wesley Hutto, Sr. and Bertha Verna "Juanita" Coker Hutto.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Carolyn Sue Hutto of Palacios; daughters Charla Sue Day of McQueeney, TX and Lanita Doyce Young (Shane) of Crosby, TX; son Charles Wesley Hutto III (Tina) of Tomball, TX; brothers Roy Douglas Hutto (Linda) of Austin and E. H. Hutto (Kathy) of Palacios; grandchildren Lance Day, Robert Day (Stassney), Brandi Vinson (Kris), Owen Hutto and Jack Hutto and great grandchildren Ryleigh Day and Kolten Vinson.
Charles served in the U.S. Army before he moved to Palacios to work for Palacios ISD. He taught Science and Health at East Side Elementary for 13 years, then worked for 15 years in the Maintenance Department before retiring. Charles devoted the last 47 years of his life in Christian service at the Church of Christ in Palacios. He served as song leader, sometimes teacher, bus ministry driver, secretary/treasurer, as well as filling the pulpit when needed.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 5PM until 7PM Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Church of Christ at 6th & Rorem in Palacios. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Friday, April 6, 2018 at the Palacios Funeral Home with Bro. Nathan Burrow and Bro. Shan Jackson officiating. His wishes were to be cremated. Honorary Pallbearers: Rett Hutto, Charlie C. Hutto, N. E. "Sonny" Balch, Byron Bradfute, Duward Bradfute, James "Pat" Nelson, Lance Day and Robert Day.
