Charles (Chuck) Edward Gibson, 78, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on March 19, 2025 in Palacios, Texas.
Chuck was born the youngest of four children to Arnold and LaNoe Gibson on February 13, 1947 in El Campo, Texas.
He was drafted into the United States Army in 1968 and served time in Germany after basic training. Chuck was honorably discharged after six years of service, earning himself the National Defense Service Medal, the Army Occupational (Berlin) Medal, and a Good Conduct Medal.
He went on to work in construction and then the oilfield until he retired in 2009.
Chuck met his wife Linda in 1985. They married on April 24, 1987 and welcomed their first child, Heather, later that year. They completed their family with the birth of their son, Justin, in 1989.
Chuck was a country man through and through. He enjoyed being outdoors, working with his hands, and taking care of animals.
Chuck is preceded in death by his son Justin Gibson, his sister Vivian Harwell, and his parents.
Chuck is survived by his wife Linda Gibson, daughter Heather Gibson Dignum and son-in-law Brian Dignum, stepson Paul Johnson and wife Elizabeth Johnson, grandsons Austin and Blake Johnson and Hunter Duffy, sister Bettie Jean Valerga and husband Steve, brother James Gibson and wife Patsy and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on April 19, 2025 at 10:30 am at Hawley Cemetery in Blessing, Texas.
