Charles Lawrence "Larry" Cherry, 83, of Bay City passed away December 12, 2012. He was born May 21, 1929 in Huffman, TX to the late George Cherry and Lucy Katherine Thornbrough Cherry. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and worked for many years as maintenance supervisor at Celanese. In recent years, he enjoyed fishing and cooking and sharing both talents with friends and family.

His son, Larry Eugene Cherry, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife Emma Westbrook Cherry of Bay City; daughter Debra Bender & husband Billy of Brazoria; sister Doris Cherry of Bay City; grandchildren Brandi & Joseph Saunders, Kristina & Aaron Bush, Larry Don Cherry, John Cherry & Sean Cherry; great grandchildren Maggie, Luke & Hazel Saunders and Daniel & Nolan Bush.

The family will receive friends and family beginning at 1:00 PM with the funeral service following at 2:00 PM Friday, December 14, 2012 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Rev. Lee Watson officiating. Interment will follow at the Damon Cemetery in Damon, Texas. Pallbearers will be Larry Don Cherry, John Cherry, Ray Cherry, David Wallace, Aaron Bush and Hootie Estlinbaum. Memorials may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society or Bay City Baptist Church.
