Cecil D. Dornak, 87, of Bay City passed away October 22, 2013. He was born September 8, 1926 in El Campo, Texas to the late Joseph Dornak and Martha Michna Dornak. He retired from Dow Chemical after 35 years and was a former resident of Lake Jackson. Cecil was a loving husband and father who gave generously of his time and talents. He was an avid hunter and a friend to all. After retirement he volunteered many hours at the food pantry in Lake Jackson.
His first wife, Olivia Dornak, and sisters, Rita Osina and Marilyn Young preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Frances Dornak of Bay City; daughter Debbie Crass & husband Steve of Tennessee; sons Denny Dornak of San Antonio and Alan Dornak of New York and 3 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 5PM until 7PM Thursday at the funeral home. A rosary will be recited at 1:30 PM Friday, October 25, 2013 at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Mass will follow at 2:00 PM officiated by Rev. Greg Korenek. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in El Campo, Texas. Pallbearers will be Pat Jurek, Randy Jurek, Clark Gray, Gene Koudelka, Eddie Cisneros and Craig King.
