Cathy E. Westinghouse July 10, 1951-July 20, 2005
Cathy was born in Houston, Texas, July 10, 1951. She graduated from Van Vleck High School in 1969 and attended Wharton County Junior College for two years. Her career was at Celenese Bay City as a Telecommunications Specialist.
Cathy was active for many years in the Bay City Historical Society, Matagorda County Museum and the Junior Volunteer League. She enjoyed historical re-enactments, Mountain Man Rendezvous and teaching cooking with cast iron on the open fire. She also taught Country and Western dancing to many, many students over the years. She was a founder of The Bay Prairie Dancers who performed dances of the 1700 and 1800's all over Texas and other states. She enjoyed period music and learned to play the Mountain Dulcimer.
She is survived by her parents L.A. (Dutch) and Frances Westinghouse of Bay City, Texas, uncle Robert P. Lee and family of Louisiana, brother Kenny Westinghouse and his wife Connie of Alvin, nephews Derik Westinghouse and wife Francey of Pearland, Corry Westinghouse and wife Stephanie of League City, cousins Danny and Sharon Lee of Bay City, and Sandy and John Fickling of Sweeny. She also has two great nieces, Audrey Westinghouse and Autumn Westinghouse and one great nephew Travis Westinghouse.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 23, 2005 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Edward Boineau officiating. Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.
She will be missed by many and forgotten by none and shall remain in our hearts and minds forever.
