Carolyn Goe Feakes, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 31, 2026, in Bay City, Texas. She was born September 20, 1938, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late Howard Goe and Loreta Rasmussen.
Carolyn grew up in Houston, Texas, without much. She and her three sisters shared one room in a two-bedroom house that their Grandpa rebuilt. She was a twirler and very popular, graduating from Aldine High School in 1957.
Carolyn worked various jobs throughout her adult life. She worked as a bookkeeper/accountant for Bechtel, Brown & Root, Baycel Credit Union, and Honeywell. She also owned and managed both a dress and leather shop in Arizona.
Carolyn’s greatest joy was raising her children, and she cherished every moment she could spend with her grandchildren. She was the most loving and caring mother and grandmother, and she had such a special way of comforting those she loved. She had three sisters who were very special to her: Beverly, Patty and Vicky. They would often get together to share stories, laugh, and enjoy each other’s company.
Her favorite time was celebrating the holidays. She took great joy in filling her home with decorations, treats and treasures to share with friends and family. She had a unique way of making simple holidays some of the most memorable occasions.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandsons Ryan Craig Standlee and Collin Wake Gann, along with her half-brother Glen Ray Goe and half-sister Helen Goe.
She is survived by her son Dwayne Skinner, daughter-in-law Melanie Ruffino Skinner, daughter Deborah Skinner Schwarta, daughter Leslie Skiner Gann, son-in-law Dennis Gann and grandchildren Crystal Schwartz Porter, Leanne Skinner Kocian married to Jeff Kocian, Bradley Schwartz married to Rachelle Krenek Schwartz, Lisa Skinner Thames married to Warren Thames, Austin Skinner, Chloe Gann married to Zack Gann, her sisters Vicky Johnson, Patty Adams, and Beverly Holloway, half-brother Howard Lee Goe, eleven Great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews along with many family and friends who will sadly miss her.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM Saturday, November 7, 2026 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM with Dr. Mike Zimmerman officiating. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery near Blessing, Texas.
