IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carol Elizabeth
Kelly
January 18, 1949 – January 18, 2019
Carol Elizabeth Sherrer Kelly, 70, of Bay City passed away January 18, 2019. She was born January 18, 1949 in Houston, TX to Kenneth Lee Sherrer and Patricia Ann Wegner Sherrer.
Carol was preceded in death by her father (Kenneth), her husband of 40 years Joe Kelly, Bobby Tucker ("the son she never had") and their beloved dog, Ranger.
She is survived by her mother Patsy Sherrer Anderson; daughters Alisha Kelly and Allison Kelly Lawhon; sisters Terry Andresen (Steve) and Nancy Bullock (Mickey); brother Alan Sherrer (Lynn); grandchildren Sydney and Brody Lawhon and Karley Kelly. Debbie Bingham; mother-in-law Raye Kelly; sister-in-law Peggy Roome; as well as an extensive number of other relatives and close friends.
Carol was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all. Those who loved her knew she enjoyed shopping, reading, and spending time with friends and family and Starbucks. Beyond all of this, the things that brought her the most joy were those moments spent with her children and grandchildren. She loved cheering them on at their games and activities, as well as cuddling up to watch their favorite shows. She was fiercely loyal to her friends and loved ones. A true matriarch, she loved, counseled and protected those who were dearest to her. Though she was modest to a fault, amongst Carol's numerous life accomplishments was her notoriety for the best fried chicken in town. Her door was always open for those who loved her and her generous spirit was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Rev. Chester Sassman officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Pallbearers will be Jason Gilmer, Scott Lawhon, Paul Roome, Christopher Sneath, Joel Wamget and Austin Roome. Honorary pallbearers Brody Lawhon, Woody Kellogg.
The family wishes to thank those who have extended financial and emotional support for Carol during her final days.
