Obituary

Carol L. Franklin, 60, went to with her Lord, May 26, 2010. Carol was born on June 25, 1949 in Bay City, Texas to the late Ovie Franklin and Lila Mae Fitzgerald Ray, Jr. Carol is retired from Southwestern Bell after 33 years, and was a substitute teacher at Tenie Holmes elementary school. She also worked at Texas Work Source for 7 years assisting clients find work. She was one of the original Girls' Softball team members. She was a Deaconess and Elder at First Christian Church. She graduated from Thomas E. Edison University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Psychology.

She is survived by her loving soul mate of 45 years Carter; her children, Carrie Ann Franklin Niemann, Brian Franklin and wife Susan, and special son, Jason Budaus; grandchildren, Gage H. Niemann, Chase A. Niemann, and Harold W. Franklin. She is also survived by her sister, Bobbi Jo (Jodi) Ray; and by numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Preceding her in death is her brother Timothy Allen Ray.

Funeral service will be Sunday, May 30, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. at the First Christian Church with Rev. Tom Quirk officiating. Burial to follow at Hawley Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 5p.m. to 7p.m. at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers, Jason Budaus, Scott Fullen, Colby Fullen, Mike Mariner, Frankie Ray and John Alex Bollom. Serving as honorary bearers, Chris Rickaway and Joe Whiffen.
