Carl Lamnek, Jr., 93, of Bellaire and Matagorda, Texas died June 21, 2018. He was born August 24, 1924 to Carl Lamnek, Sr. and Ana Laura Heib Lamnek in Mansfield, OH.

Carl's family moved to Harlingen, TX where he graduated from high school. Carl served his country during World War II, landing on the Normandy beaches the 3 ^rd day of the invasion with the mechanized support group. As a veteran, Carl enrolled in Texas College of Arts & Industries in Kingsville, TX and received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. Carl and his wife Carol Howland Lamnek raised their three children in Sweeny, TX. He worked for Amoco Production Company in material procurement and distribution. During those years Carl liked to play softball, golf and fish. They retired permanently on Matagorda Island where Carl Pursued fishing – his favorite!

He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Rebecca. Having celebrated their 71 ^st anniversary June 1 ^st , he is survived by his wife Carol; daughter, Suzanna Foote and her husband Ray; son Carl Thomas "Tommy" Lamnek and his wife Joan; four grandchildren Sarah Foote Cameron and her husband Ian, Sam Foote, Philip Lamnek and his wife Sarah and Travis Lamnek and his wife Brooke; nine great grandchildren Anthony Foote (Sam), Caius, Soland, Eliorah, Rhys and Bowen Lamnek (Philip and Sarah) and Taylor, Tyler and Tanner Lamnek (Travis and Brooke).

Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Monday, June 25, 2018 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City. Funeral service will begin at 10:30 AM with interment to follow at Sweeny Cemetery.
