Candelario “Cande” Galvan Sr, 82, of Blessing passed away peacefully on May 17, 2026. He was born on August 23, 1943, in La Feria, TX, to Ramon and Angelita Vasquez Galvan.

Cande was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Ramon Galvan, Johnny Galvan, and Macky Galvan; sons: Candelario Galvan Jr and Jesse Galvan; and grandson: Armando Aguilar Jr. Cande is survived by his loving wife Irma Galvan; children: Jose Luis Galvan Sr., Angelina Galvan, and Amelia Aguilar (Armando) all of Blessing; brother: Jimmy Galvan; sisters: Regina Sanchez and Hilaria “Lala” Longoria; 13 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

The family will receive relatives and friends for visitation from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. The Holy Rosary will be at 6:30 PM, recited by Deacon Joe Ramos. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM Friday, May 22, 2026, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Fr. Gabriel J. Mensah officiating. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Hammond, Joe Luis Galvan, Jon’Eric Lopez, Michael Winters, Anthony Galvan, Adam Aguilar, Fernando Aguilar Jr., and Gabriel Medina. Honorary Pallbearers will be Armando Aguila Sr., Mathew Hooten, John Longoria and Juan Aguilar.
