Bruce Alan “Grumpy” Hanzen, 73, of Bay City passed away September 12, 2026. He was born November 14, 1952, to the late Robert Alan Hanzen and Ruth G. Steinbauer Hanzen.

He served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Laurie Lynn Lubbers.

Survivors include his wife, Julia B. “Judy” Hanzen; niece, Melanie Owens & husband Eric; nephew, Nathan Lubbers & wife Ashley; great-nieces, Bryce, Tristyn and Jordyn Owens; stepdaughter, Daphanie Ryman Pinkston; and brother-in-law, Bill Lubbers.

A celebration of Grumpy’s life will begin at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home.
