Gordon "Brent" Darby passed away on October 4, 2021, at the age of 71, in his hometown of Bay City, Texas.

Brent was a proud father and grandfather.  One of his favorite past times was drinking coffee, and catching up with friends and neighbors. Brent loved the outdoors and he enjoyed fishing and hunting in his spare time. Brent was most proud of his time serving our country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War from 1968- 72.

Brent is survived by his daughter, Claire Wleczyk and husband Billy; granddaughter Harper Wleczyk; brothers, Rick Darby and Jeff Darby (Gina), James Scheel; along with his nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by his parents, Billie Marie Scheel and Paul Scheel, James Darby, and Richard Carter; his granddaughter Caroline Wleczyk; and his sister-in-law Anna Darby.
