Brenda Owen of Bay City, Texas passed away on Sunday July 27, 2025. Brenda was born on August 10, 1945. She grew up in Calhoun County then attended College at Texas Women's University in Denton, Texas. She moved to Bay City after college where she married and began her life as a wife and mother.

She worked for Marathon Oil Company for many years then later Matagorda County Environmental Health. On brighter days she loved to Bowl, play games, and travel. On rougher days she loved Hallmark movies and westerns. But most of all, she loved spending time with her friends and family.

She is preceded in death by her parents Robert Perry and Irene Emma McAlister, her husband Donald Ray Owen, brother Bobby McAlister, grandson Donald Blake Walden, and nephew Robert Ward McAlister.

She is survived by her daughter Belitha Baringer, her son-in-law Raymond Baringer, her grand-daughter Alexis Baringer, her uncle Donnie Helms, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at 1:00pm Friday, August 1, 2025 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Services will follow at 2:00pm, officiated by Brenda's nephew, Pastor Bryan McAlister. The pallbearers will be Frankie Owen, Christopher Owen, Ray Baringer, Jason McAlister, Connor McAlister, and Arthur Riggs.

Immediately following the service there will be a reception at "The Old Train Depot"- 2620 Ave G. All friends and family are welcome to attend.
