Billy William John Denn, 84, of Bay City passed away August 19, 2007. He was born April 14, 1923 in Ellsworth, Wisconsin to the late Matt and Gladys Collamore Denn. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII and was recalled for the Korean Conflict. He served for a number of years in the Air Force Reserve retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. He spent 67 years working in the family business, M. J. Denn & Son, and served on the Bay City Port Authority Board for over 24 years.

Survivors include daughter & son-in-law: Judith Anne & Michael C. Burkle of Van Vleck; 2 sons and daughters-in-law: Vernon & Gail Denn and Mike & Becky Denn all of Bay City; 3 sisters: Margaret Huddleston of Temple, Emily Lee of Bay City and Betty Cartwright of Clear Lake; 5 grandchildren: William M. Burkle & wife Andrea, Christopher C. Burkle, Danny Denn & wife Bobbi, Keisha Denn and Julie Denn; 2 great grandchildren: Lily Burkle and Tigh Michael Denn; and by a number of nieces, nephews and special friends. He was preceded in death by his wife: Georgena Nell Denn in 1992 and sister: Maxine Farrar.

A Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Rev. Chester Sassman officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. His nephews will serve as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Harold Martin, Lynn Quillin, Billie Head, and Current & Former Board Members of The Port of Bay City Authority.
