Billy Jalufka, 81, of Blessing, passed away January 10, 2019. He was born Willie Benard Jalufka on December 31, 1937 in Matagorda County, to Mansvet and Hilda Macha Jalufka.

Billy was born and raised in El Maton and Blessing and lived all of his life in Matagorda County. He graduated from Tidehaven High School. He proudly served as Justice of the Peace for Precinct 4 for two terms. Anyone who is familiar with Blessing knew Billy as a barber for the past 50 plus years and if you got your hair cut there, you got it cut the way Billy wanted to cut it. His sense of humor (if you call it that) and familiar ways will be missed by all passing through downtown Blessing.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents, and sister Dorothy "Peppie" Hester. He is survived by his son Billy Jalufka, Jr. and wife Gail Higgs and their daughter, Kara, of Texas City, his daughter Kelly Siegler and husband Sam and their daughters, Samantha and Kelsey Siegler of Houston, his youngest daughter, Lea Jalufka of Blessing, and his girlfriend Nancy Callahan.

Services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery in Blessing.
