Billie Jo Gillett, 69, of Smiley, TX died July 3, 2007. She was born March 3, 1938 in Bay City, TX to the late Claude P. Fondon, Sr. and Lonnie Rutherford Fondon. She resided in Bay City for over 60 years, was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and very active in helping young people with FFA and 4-H.

Survivors include sons Dennis Gillett of Senora, TX and Perry Gillett of Sealy; sisters Pat Davis and Gayle Polachek both of Smiley, TX; twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brother Claude Fondon, Jr. and grandson Blaine Gillett.

Graveside service will be 2:00 PM Friday, July 6, 2007 at the Midfield Cemetery with Leon Davis officiating. Pallbearers will be Marshall Davis, Howard Davis, Joseph Hecox, Jr., Freddie Greer, Kenneth Henderson and Tommy Henderson.
