Billie Ray Clifton, a proud and skilled millwright, passed away peacefully on 12/6/2024, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on 4/28/1957 in Bay City, TX, Billie spent a lifetime perfecting his craft and lending his expertise to countless projects, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues.

When not working with precision and dedication in his trade, Billie could be found in the great outdoors, where he truly felt at home. A passionate fisherman and avid hunter, he cherished early mornings on the water and evenings in the woods. His stories of the one that got away and the thrill of a successful hunt were always shared with a twinkle in his eye and a warm laugh.

Billie was a loving father, grandfather, & friend, whose spontaneity & humor left a mark on all who knew him. He is survived by his sister Sharon Kay Smith & husband Roy, his children, son Mark Clifton, son Michael Clifton and wife Brooke, daughter Tara Clifton, and daughter Taelor Fletcher and husband Micheal, along with 9 grandchildren, 1 great grandson and countless other loving family members, who will carry forward his lessons of hard work and an appreciation for nature's beauty.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 21st, 2024 at 10 am at Taylor Brother's Funeral Home in Bay City with a gathering to follow at Matagorda County Fairgrounds Multipurpose Building. Friends and family are invited to share memories, swap fishing and hunting tales, and honor a life well-lived.

Billie may have hung up his tools and set aside his fishing rod, but the ripples of his legacy will flow on in the hearts of those he touched.
