Obituary

William "Bill" Joseph Howze, 90, of Bay City met the Lord peacefully on Saturday, June 4, 2016. He was born February 3, 1926 to Joseph and Effie (Miller) Howze in Iowa Park, Texas. He attended high school in Midland Texas, and during World War II, served in the United States Navy.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Jim (Baker) Howze, parents, Joseph and Effie Howze, sibling Peggy (Howze) Blackburn, and nephews Larry Morrow and Bill Blackburn.

Bill is survived by his two daughters, Connie (Howze) Stall and her husband William Stall of Boerne, Texas and Kim (Howze) Marceaux and her husband Brent of Bay City, Texas; four grandchildren, Shawn Marceaux and his wife Erin (Tyson) Marceaux, Chris Stall and his wife Kristen (Holmes) Stall, Julie (Marceaux) Latson and her husband Shane Latson, and Susan Stall. He had three great-grandchildren, Fisher Marceaux, Beatrice Marceaux, and Wyatt Latson. He is also survived by his nephew Michael Morrow and niece Martha (Morrow) Peterson.

Bill was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was faithful to his religion and family, a true gentleman, a train enthusiast, part-time magician, and accomplished storyteller.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 6 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. A service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Bay City, Texas, on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Cedarvale North Cemetery. Pallbearers are Shawn Marceaux, Chris Stall, Shane Latson, and Michael Morrow. Honorary pallbearers include lifelong friend Clyde Workman and the Friendship Sunday School Class of First United Methodist Church.
