Beulah Mae Sparks, 92, of Palacios passed away September 30, 2014. She was born June 27, 1922 in Midfield, TX to the late W. T. Gunter, Sr. and Minnie Spencer Gunter. She taught English at Tidehaven ISD for over 40 years.

Her husband George Howard Sparks preceded her in death and her brother W. T. "Buster" Gunter, Jr. Survivors include nieces Shirley Gunter Kelly and Joyce Gunter Bannerot & husband Jim; sister-in-law Willie Mae Gunter Simpson; great-nephews and caregivers Travis Rodgers and Gunter Kelly; long-term care-person Irene Garcia; nephew by marriage Jack Hickman and sister-in-law by marriage Mary Maude Hickman.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6pm until 8pm Thursday at Palacios Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Friday, October 3, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in Palacios with Rev. David King officiating. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dean Kubecka, Ryan Kubecka, Dane Kubecka, Ronnie Kubecka, Erwin Jansen and Vic Kahlick.
