Betty Jo Jenkins McFarlain, 84, of Palacios, Texas, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2025. She was born on September 17, 1940, in McKinney, Texas, to the late Claude Lee Jenkins Sr. and Myrtle Marie (Rose) Jenkins.

Betty loved cooking, gardening, and spending time with family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oran J. McFarlain; her daughter, Donna Padrick; her grandson Justin Ressler; her brothers, Claude Jr. and Charles; her sisters, Edith, Evelyn, Allie Jean, Mary Jane, and Rose Ann; her stepsons Ray and Rickey McFarlain.

She is survived by her sons, Billy Lee Christmas and Pete Christmas (Mary), and daughters, Debbie Cox and Dianna Yackel; her grandchildren Misty, Donald, Jo, Amanda, Adam, Luke, nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; her step-children Rodney and Annette McFarlain.

The family will receive relatives and friends for visitation from 9-10am Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at the Palacios Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at 10:00am with Chris Webber officiating. Interment will follow at Palacios Cemetery. Pallbearers for Betty will be Billy, Pete, Jo, Adam, Luke, Reece, and Roy.
