Bessie M. Forehand, 93, passed away March 23, 2026. She was born on March 11, 1934 in Mineral Springs, Arkansas. The last of 13 children born to Pearl & Otis Conatser. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Forehand and her son Steven Riley.

She is survived by her two daughters Karen Smith & Jo Sarafis, numerous nieces and nephews, many friends and Golfing buddies.

Bessie and her husband, Tom, changed the landscape of Van Vleck over the years. They built several apartments and Bessie had a Beauty Shop for several years.

Tom introduced Bessie to golf and she was hooked. She played with Tom and his friends at Celanese, where she out- played most of them. She later joined the Bay City Country Club and the W.G.A. where she was Club Champion several times. She especially enjoyed all the trips and golf outings she had with friends.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, March 30, 2026 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with David Gibbons officiating.
