Bertha G. Martino, 86, of Palacios peacefully passed away February 13, 2022.  She was born December 29, 1935 in Los Indios, TX to the late Jose Guerra and Catarina Pena Guerra.

Bertha's joys in life were her family.  She also enjoyed playing bingo, reading romance novels, going to the Senior Citizen's Center, going to Church and spending time with her sisters.

She was employed at Palacios ISD for 25 years before she retired.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Tom O. Martino, sisters Antonia Flores, Elfida Frangullie, brothers Roy Guerra and Joe Guerra and son-in-law Ronnie Mills.

Bertha leaves behind two children Thomas Anthony Martino and Dorothy "Dottie" Mills; grandchildren Ryan Sanders, Lauren Cruz (Carlos) and Jason Frangullie, Jr.; great grandchildren Ian Hinds, Carter Cruz and Silas Cruz; sisters Lydia Longoria, Olga Latapie and Oralia Mijares (Joe) and may beloved nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Bethany Senior Living and Memorial Medical Center both in Port Lavaca.

The family will receive friends and family from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church in Palacios.  Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Palacios Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Mark Latapie, Steve Frangullie, Joseph Frangullie, Lupe Longoria,Tony Garcia and Joey Mijares.
