Bernadine Thomas Henson, 92, passed away September 13, 2017 in Bay City, Texas. She was born October, 14, 1924 in Hiawatha, Kansas to Richard S. and Muriel Smith Thomas.

Bernie reveled in her world travels and studies of ancient civilizations. Always a busy gardener and an avid bird watcher, she was an enthusiastic member of the local nature club. She was a longtime member of the book club and supporter of the public library. She enjoyed her many years of Pink Lady service at Matagorda General Hospital.

Bernie is preceded in death by her parents; husband Joe H. Henson, and brother Richard M. Thomas. She is survived by son Bruce Henson and granddaughters Alyssa Leeann and Cristina Nicole Henson; daughter Cynde Henson (Stan); son Steve Henson (Shelley), granddaughter Megan Elizabeth Evans ( Beau ) and great granddaughter Marian Grace; granddaughter Rebecca Eileen Penny ( Josh ), and great granddaughter Charlotte Cate and sister, Maryvon Elizabeth Robinson

Memorial services to be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 22, 2017 at First Methodist Church of Bay City in the Chapel with Dr. Russ Minch officiating.
