Benita Thompson, 81, of Palacios, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2016. She was born April 18, 1935 in Palacios, TX to Benjamin and Ruth Jordan Blackburn.

Benita is preceded in death by her parents; husband O.B. Thompson; brothers Gerard Viets and Edward Blackburn and sisters, Patricia Smith and Irene Holloway. She is survived by sister Pearl Zemanek of Bay City; brother Ben Blackburn and wife Vivian of Lometa, TX; sister-in-law Nellie Rockenbaugh of Palacios, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and relatives beginning at 12:00pm Thursday, December 15, 2016 until service time. Funeral services will follow visitation at 2:00pm with Rev. David King officiating. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery in Blessing, TX. Pallbearers are Richard Zemanek, Robert Zemanek, Benjamin Blackburn, Brandon Blackburn, Steven Curtis, (Baby) Johnny Holloway, Jr.
