Ben Schafer, 60, of Bay City, passed away July 15, 2020. He was born February 7, 1960 in Grand Rapids, Iowa to George Melvin and Marion Duncan Schafer.

Ben was preceded in death by his father, and sisters, Laquetta Schafer and Lorel Schafer Rodriguez.

He is survived by his mother Marion Schafer; wife Vicky Ann Boots Schafer; daughter Holly McKee and husband Kevin; son Jonathon Schafer; sisters O. Lee Chavez, Bonnie Sheffler and husband Cliff; brother Lloyd Schafer; grandchildren Megan, Adrian, Brandon and Colton, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He loved his family and his beer.

A Celebration of Life will take place Monday, July 20, 2020 at his home. Friends and family may begin gathering there at 4:00 PM.

In lieu of usual remembrances, donations may be made to Taylor Bros. Funeral Home for final expenses of Little Ben Schafer.
