With deep love and sadness, we announce the passing of Belle Losoya Castaneda, who passed away peacefully on Friday, August 7, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on April 9, 1948, in Markham, Texas, Belle Castaneda lived a life marked by kindness, faith, and devotion to family and friends.

She was known for her generosity, warm smile, strong work ethic, and loving heart. She was a beloved teacher who dedicated 34 years to Tidehaven ISD. She touched the lives of countless students throughout her career, leaving behind not only lessons from the classroom, but memories and a lasting legacy that many will carry with them throughout their lives. Her faith was at the center of her life. She loved Jesus and never missed an opportunity to share His Word and tell others about His love. She lived her faith through the way she treated people with kindness, generosity, compassion, and a willingness to help anyone in need. She was an example of God’s love in both her words and the way she lived each day.

Her family was her greatest earthly joy. To them, she was their home, their peace, and their greatest source of love and support. She was the person they could always turn to when they needed advice, encouragement, a listening ear, or simply one of her hugs. Her home was a place where everyone was welcome. She had a way of making people feel cared for, comfortable, and loved. She gave endlessly and never expected anything in return. She gave her time, her energy, her wisdom, and her love because caring for others was simply part of who she was.

She taught her family some of the most important lessons they will carry for the rest of their lives. She taught them to be kind, to be generous, to help others, and to always stand by the people they love. She showed them that family means being there for one another through the good times and the difficult ones. Most of all, she taught them how to love deeply and without conditions. She never let the people she loved question how she felt about them. She made sure they knew through her words, her actions, and the way she cared for them every day. Her family will continue to carry her traditions, her stories, her faith, and the love she gave so freely, keeping her memory alive in the way they live and love one another.

Belle was preceded in death by her parents, Felipa and Estanislao Losoya; brothers, Mike and Simon Losoya; and sisters, Marie Figueroa, Eloisa Yanez, and Elvira Gutierrez. She is survived by her husband, Enas Castaneda; daughters, Amanda G. Smith (Kenneth), Danielle Mink (Keith), and Elisa Aguilera (Miguel); sons, Mark Galvez (Melissa) and Albert Galvez. Grandchildren, Amber Carrillo (Mitchell), Joshua Galvez (Avery), Alexis Solis (Eddie), Alex Smith, Allison Galvez Lara (Adrian), Anthony Garcia, Matthew Galvez (Chloe), Jacob Galvez (Gabby), Rebecca Galvez, Malorie & Luke Aguilera, Kaleb Mink (Ashley), Kassidy Mink, Noah Mink (Avery) and Hannah Mink; and great-grandkids, Aria Belle, Calli and Taryn Carrillo, Bailey & Lucas Garcia, Aeson & Kalina Solis and Parker Mink.

The family will receive relatives and friends for visitation from 5:00pm – 7:00pm Friday, August 14, 2026, at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 10:00am Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Markham First Baptist Church with Damon Rambo officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Pallbearers for Belle will be Alex Smith, Anthony & Lucas Garcia, Matthew & Jacob Galvez, Joshua Galvez, Kaleb & Noah Mink, Luke Aguilera, and Aeson & Eddie Solis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mitchell Carrillo, Billy Cude, Stephen Crow, Nathan Fitzgerald, Joe Mike Losoya, Jerry Jankauskas, Anthony Lundquist, Frank Avila, Jr., Johnny Parr, Jarret Rush, Brian Losoya, John Garcia, Richard Castaneda, Grady Quinney and Pat Patterson

Though deeply missed, Ms. Belle’s love, faith, and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
