Obituary

Barbara Manna, 81, of Bay City, Texas, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2026. She was born July 21, 1944, in Matagorda County, to the late George Orsak and Louise (Gurecky) Orsak.

She graduated from Tidehaven High School. She married George Manna on October 13, 1962. Barbara had a passion for cooking and baking cinnamon rolls for her family. She loved spending time in her yard and sipping on a glass of wine.

Barbara was a faithful member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and a member of the Americas Court Resurrection #2054, and the KJZT. She also gave glory to God with her beautiful singing voice in the choir.

Barbara along with her husband, George, operated Manna Concrete for 66 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Leonard, George W., Jr., Marilyn (Cledus) Hollas, and Theresa (Lawrence) Hluza; and children, Gregory and Melody Manna. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, George Manna; sister, Jane LaCroix; and brother, Tommy (Diana) Orsak; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends.

The family will receive relatives and friends for visitation from 9:00-10:00am Friday, March 13, 2026, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Bay City, Texas. The Rosary will be recited at 9:30am, followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00am, with Father Stephen Vacek officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Pallbearers for Barbara will be Chris Hollas, Matthew Hluza, Andrew Hluza, Lawrence Hluza, Carey Orsak, Thomas Orsak, and Stephen LaCroix.

Memorial donations in Barbara’s memory can be made to Holy Cross Catholic School or Holy Cross Catholic Church and the Holy Cross Choir.

The family of Barbara Manna wishes to express sincere thanks to the many family members and friends who have comforted and helped us and Barbara through this time. A special thank you to caregivers, Gloria Lopez, along with the Hospice nurses.
