Obituary

Barbara Ellen "Bobbie" Mardis passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, generosity, and devotion to her family.

Bobbie was born November 18, 1938 to Lloyd and Glorice Green. She later married Gerald Mardis on May 29, 1959 and together they built a life centered on love and family. Bobbie and Gerald welcomed two children, Renee Mardis (1960) and Mike Mardis (1963). Bobbie devoted herself to raising her family while also supporting Gerald in building their family business. Her home was a place where family always came first, and she took great pride in caring for those she loved.

Beyond her family, Bobbie believed in giving back to her community. She generously volunteered her time with the Women's Crisis Center and the Matagorda Birding Center, where her kindness and willingness to help made a lasting impact.

Bobbie's greatest joy was watching her family grow through the generations. She is survived by her devoted husband, Gerald Mardis; children, Renee Mardis and Mike Mardis; grandchildren; Jeremy Durham, Lynsey Hafernick, Sara Hartsfield, Tyler Mardis, and Alex Barton; brother, Frank Green; and nine great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense pride and happiness.

Bobbie will be remembered for her warmth, fiery spirit, unwavering support and love she shared so freely with family and friends. Whether through quiet acts of kindness, words of encouragement, or simply being present for the people she loved, she left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Her memory will continue to live on in the stories shared and the family she cherished above all else.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Wednesday at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home.  Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM.  Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery.
