I am Bailey Slone Schmitt. I was born in Sugar Land, Texas on May 9, 2005 to my Mommy and Daddy, Russell and Len "Sissy" Schmitt and I was taken to be with the angels on Monday, March 13, 2017.
I loved playing softball, swimming, doing gymnastics, fishing, and playing with my friends and my big sister. My mommy and daddy would tell you I was free-spirited, spunky, and silly, but also sweet. I loved adventure and I got a lot of it. I never met a stranger and people always told me that my bright blue eyes, sweet laughter, and infectious smile lit up the world. Speaking of my eyes, you know the ones that twinkle, shimmer and shine, I was able to give someone the gift of sight – how cool is that?
I am survived by my amazing parents, Russell and Len Schmitt; my favorite sister, Hallie; my Papa and Nana, Dan and Charlotte Tucker; my Grandpa Jerry Schmitt; my Uncle Daniel Tucker; my Uncle Nick and Aunt Sara Schmitt; my Aunt Sandra Tucker; my cousins, Lentz and Lanae Tucker, and Tyler Schmitt; lots of extended family; the best softball family a girl could ask for; and my sweet dog, Derby.
I was preceded in death by my grandmother Peggy Schmitt; my great-grandparents Thelma Lee Rackley, Henry Lentz Rackley, Raymond Schmitt and Gertrude Schmitt, whom I will be entertaining in Heaven with my singing and dancing - oh, and my softball games in Heaven.
My funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, March 17, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Palacios, Texas with Rev. Chris Webb officiating. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery near Blessing, Texas. I would love to see lots of pink at the service. Pink was my favorite color and I hope it will remind you all to remember and celebrate the joy I brought to this world.
My family and I would sincerely appreciate donations to Rose-Rich Girls Softball and/or Sugar Land Animal Shelter in lieu of flowers.
